Harden's survey result
Summary
“Great for casual family get together” – “The (slightly!) cheaper, more informal, sister restaurant to Woven on the Coworth Park estate” is appropriately named – a bright, white-walled space, with high pitched ceilings and large windows overlooking its summer terrace. It serves an approachable menu of cosseting luxe treats, with ‘Barn Classics’ including a Venison Wellington alongside The Barn Burger and Smith’s Chicken Pie. “The food is delicious and portions are generous so definitely go hungry”.
Summary
“Coworth Park’s less formal alternative to the Michelin-starred ‘Woven by Adam Smith’” has a “beautiful setting overlooking the stunning grounds” (with the possibility of “sitting outside near heaters if required”); “there are the crowd-pleasers such as haddock & chips, burgers and steak” on the menu, “but also more interesting dishes done very well”. Top Tip – “go hungry”, for the dishes are “hearty”.
Summary
The more casual brasserie restaurant (muddy boots welcome) at the Dorchester Collection’s ultra-ritzy countryside hotel, which also includes acclaimed fine-diner ‘Woven by Adam Smith’; its “tasty, wholesome and interesting” comfort food includes “quality fish ‘n’ chips and burgers but also more inspired dishes” too.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
