Harden's survey result
Summary
Luca Berardino’s French and Italian heritage informs this ‘Restaurant and Chef’s Table’, which has operated for five years one street back from the South Embankment. Upstairs, Luca presides over the open kitchen which operates in a tasting menu format, and downstairs they serve small plates and snacks.
Summary
One street back from local luminary Rockfish, Paris-born and Italian-bred chef Luca Berardino’s modern European small plates bistro (est. 2020) is named after his grandparents’ home city in Puglia, southern Italy. By all accounts the “imaginative” sharing dishes (there’s also a £35 per person tasting menu available at lunch) showcase some “great cooking” – and if downstairs is a little too “cramped” to suit, they also have ‘Chef’s Table’ upstairs where Luca prepares dishes in front of the table.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
