Harden's says
An excellent array of Sardinian wine is a highpoint (one of the backers is a wine distributor) at this informal Italian, which opened in spring 2019. Made more desirable by its cute neighbourhood location in ultra-desirable Primrose Hill – it received a big early thumbs up for its cucina from someone with strong family ties to the area: Evening Standard (now Tatler) critic, Fay Maschler.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Front-of-house / owner Giuseppe Gullo is charm personified at this proper local Italian” just before the railway foot-bridge in Primrose Hill, “serving Sardinian and Sicilian cuisine” (and he works closely with a Sardinian-based wine exporter to source biodynamic wines from small producers throughout Italy). The menu is concise, with a focus on regional dishes from the two islands: “decent food” if perhaps on the pricey side.
Summary
“Owner/front-of-house Giuseppe is Sicilian, chef Antonio is Sardinian, and the cuisine is a mix of the two” at this cute Primrose Hill corner-site, praised for its “fabulous cooking and charming service”. An impressive wine list explores biodynamic bottles from the two islands.
Summary
The “most charming front of house”, led by “delightful owner Guiseppe” adds brio to this “passionate and cute little local”, which occupies a quiet corner of Primrose Hill. “Good wines… it’s also a wine shop” add to the gastronomic appeal of its “authentic” Sardinian/Sicilian gastronomia.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
